Watch Out For Suboxone If You Use Opiates!

I had been taking methadone for a little while. I had worked my way up the opiate ladder in my life. I had taken 100mg the night before, and 20mg on this morning.

I found these pills, orange with a cross and an 8 on them, ID'd them online and found out they were Suboxone. I did a VERY BRIEF search and found out that it was an opiate and I had heard (from people who were not opiate tolerant) that there was some recreational value to these. If I had only searched a little longer, harder, come here or gone to the adh archives.... But I didn't, as soon as I found out they were opiates, I was on them. I put two pills under my tongue and waited.

In about 15 minutes I realized that I was in trouble. I felt this feeling that I can only describe as 'creeping death' coming over me.
I felt this feeling that I can only describe as 'creeping death' coming over me.
I knew something was wrong. I started to sweat, I was early April and about 40 degrees outside. My feet started to sweat like crazy. I started shitting my brains out. Then I had to shit again. I started throwing up like crazy, even when there was not a drop of liquid in my body to expel, I still was shitting and throwing up. I had really bad feelings of paranoia and this really intense dizzyness.

This lasted for about 8 hours. I tried to lay down on a couch, but could not sleep, it was just too intense!! After 8 hours I finally got some more Methadone (40mg) and that made it a little better. But I was still way messed up for the night, and things were not right for a day or so.

What I would learn later, to my regret, is that mixing Methadone and Suboxone is the WORST thing you can do as the Suboxone kicks the Methadone out of your body and puts you into withdrawals. Again, if I had only looked a little further.

But I didn't, I was a dummy, and I paid for it.

So, the lesson here, don't mix Methadone and Suboxone.
