DOSE:
4.72 g oral Cannabis (edible / food)
Psychosis - Edible Cannabis

The Setting:

I was young and decided upon myself to make edible brownies. I used about 1.5oz for a 9x9 tin. I ate 1/9 squares and after about 30-40 minutes started to feel the onset of a head rush. Having previous experience with edibles, the 'coming on' was familiar. However, this time round the head rush was much too intense and my body felt like it was swelling up and after 45 min, I started gagging, trying to vomit.

I knew something was off, because I had trouble breathing, and concentrating. I had a thought inside my head ' I am going to die'. I was sitting on my chair, with a lamp desk close by. My inner thoughts told me to go close to the light and I would live. If I went away from the lamp I would die. Nothing seemed more clear than this ultimatum and I crouched by the light, pretty much in a fetal position.

About 1hr afterwards, I was experiencing open-eye hallucinations and time dilation. I could see smokey wisps, with faces coming out of the furniture around. At this point I started vomiting and was going in and out of reality.
I could see smokey wisps, with faces coming out of the furniture around. At this point I started vomiting and was going in and out of reality.
My cousin decided to call an ambulance and when they had arrived, I had a strange sensation of angels taking me to judgement.

During the ambulance ride, I was strapped in, my body was in the ambulance but my mind had transported to another reality. I was a small figure whirling, and a rush of information and scenery took place. What I can describe:

In a void somewhere, there was a ball of inferno and my arms and legs spread out with my back against the flames. I was screaming because of the pain, and could not move in what felt like days. Later, in third person view I saw a series of flashes, like time on fast-forward: Soil with a recent forest fire, then a young sappling growing in a barren field, the forest growing then morphing and churning, swirling I could see rocks and mountains, everything fast paced. Then I saw a man on top of this swirling mass of Earth carrying a load on his back and climbing. It was a rush of information. I would go back and forth in reality, and at times in the ambulance the paramedic's faces became my father and uncle and I was laughing hysterically. Then I had some other personal flashbacks, memories, and a strange sensation that all this has happened before, a deja-vu, I remembered dying or letting go.

I know all this is quite ineffable, But what I had seen was a glimpse of something grand, something beyond. There is more to the trip, I have left out, but when I arrived at the hospital I slept for 4-5 hours, unhooked the IV and took a bus home without saying anything. I slept again, for +13 hours when I got back, 2-3 days later, my head still felt heavy but I knew I was coming back to normal.

It's been 2 years since the incident. And one phrase captures my thoughts entirely: 'what gives light, must endure burning'.
