Sucked In
Salvia divinorum
Citation:   starman. "Sucked In: An Experience with Salvia divinorum (exp11845)". Erowid.org. Dec 1, 2004. erowid.org/exp/11845

DOSE:
0.5 g smoked Salvia divinorum (leaves)
BODY WEIGHT: 60 kg
This little packet of dried leaf didn’t look like it could flavor my tea never mind take me to a place I didn’t think was possible.

There are other worlds out there, thin membranes separating us from alternative realities, dimensions other than our own visible 3.

Whether you believe that God gave us plants or not is irrelevant; the plants are there and we should use them to increase our spirituality.

Salvia Divinorum is one of those plants and I had it in my hand.

Now, before taking any mind-altering plant/drug, I personally, thoroughly research my potential experience. There are places to go and people to talk to and I urge you to seek them out before embarking on your own journey. It will be personal because everyone reacts to different stimulants in different ways. Find your own limits and use them to stretch yourself. My sitter friend was more excited than I was so we got underway.

My Salvia was supposed to be for 3 hits but due to experience and a need to constantly push my own well-defined limits, I chose to smoke the whole lot. I had been sold approximately half of one gram of material.

I placed the pieces of leaf into my small metal pipe, lit them and began to inhale.

Within about 20 seconds I could feel myself changing; my visible world began to take on a cartoon-esque hue to it. My field of vision was being distorted into a kind of swirling shape and I could see what looked like a membranous layer to another place, almost like how the colors dance on the skin of a soap bubble. It was static, circular in shape and I was being pulled backwards into it. This is where my previous ‘medicinal’ experience and thirst for knowledge merged as I let myself go, stopped fighting this new and wonderful experience and dared to be taken.

My arms began to arch behind my back to match the spherical dimension and simultaneously I could feel what can only be described as large hooks pulling from the underside of both arms, my back and the bottom of my head. Conscious throughout but unaware of my surroundings (my room) I found myself reveling in the mystery that was being shown to me. I desperately wanted to go further into this new place, a place that had other ‘people’ (I use the term loosely, I could see forms but no faces…maybe you would call them beings) in it but as I tried to push myself towards them the effects of the smoke began to wear off and I suddenly found myself almost upside down with my arms pressed against the wall behind me wondering how I had gotten into that position. In the cold light of 3-d it was not an overly comfortable position to be in.

Who needs comfort when you’ve got a peak into the unknown.

Not me.

Give me the unknown anytime.

My excursion lasted only 15 minutes but it took about 1 hour to be completely free of the effects of the smoke.

I am already setting up another meeting with Salvia A for I feel the need to go further and deeper next time. I believe I was being shown a glimpse of other places; other realms that exist but that we usually don’t have access to. The Salvia was offering them to me, inviting me – it’s now up to me to go there again and begin the process of navigation through these new and intriguing worlds. I feel lucky to have this opportunity for exploring. I will reward my teacher with respect and patience. I recommend you to do the same.
