Review

This book is... written with a forensic chemist's eye. It is quite easy to understand and easy to read. This makes it useful not only to law enforcement and lawyers, but anyone interested in these areas. I like this book a lot. It... goes into detailed descriptions of lab techniques and unravels a lot of terminology that is often misunderstood by the non-chemist. This is important as non-chemists are those that determine our laws. If all lawmakers have are skewed definitions, imprecise laws result. I'd recommend buying this new book. -- Psychedelics ReImagined, Thomas Lyttle; Autonomedia 1998

From the Author

Since the moratorium on LSD in the mid-sixties, large gaps in research have left important questions unanswered. Although the doses of street LSD are very low (2O-75 ugs.) in comparison to the dangerously high doses from the sixties (250-750 ugs.), a problem of misuse still remains.

Until controlled clinical studies are resumed using low dosages, most of what we know today will remain based on reports dating from the early sixties and fifties.

LSD-25 & Tryptamine Syntheses gives the reader an inside look into the chemistry and construction of these molecules. It is important for those in the legal and medical professions, law enforcement, and students of the neurosciences to have a greater understanding of these controversial psychoactives.
