  • Seeds are both toxic and narcotic
    Seeds are said to be narcotic and that 10 grains of the nut are equal to 3 grains of opium1. However, seeds have also been described as toxic and potentially deadly. Use of horse chestnut as a narcotic should not be tried without extensive knowledge.
