Is rhododendron psychoactive?
Q: Is rhododendron psychoactive? A long time ago I smoked a rhododendrun leaf and got very intoxicated. I was also stoned and drunk at the time but this seemed much stronger. I wanted to try it again without the alcohol and cannabis but some people say it is poisonous.

A: Rhododendrons are indeed very toxic. They contain chemicals known as grayanotoxins which are very poisonous to the cardiovascular and gastrointestinal systems. These plants have killed many farm animals, and have been used by some people to commit suicide. Smoking it is not recommended unless death is your desired result.
