Does using cocaine anaesthetize the sense of smell?
Q: After snorting coke, can people smell things, or does it totally anaesthetize their sense of smell?

A: Reports indicate that the sense of smell is definitely reduced immediately following the use of snorted cocaine, but that it is not completely eliminated. Habitual use of inter-nasal cocaine can also cause long-term damage to the nose and nasal passages. Obviously this damage can also have a long-term effect on the sense of smell.
