Are there any professions revolving around psychoactives?
Q: Are there any professions revolving around psychoactives? I would be interested in learning about them.

A: Other than the obvious underground professions in the world of illicit manufacture and trafficking, there are many legitimate fields within which one can focus on psychoactives: pharmacology, chemistry, toxicology, psychology, sociology, and public policy all spring to mind.

An excellent article written by R. Andrew Sewell, MD, a marijuana researcher at Yale School of Medicine, "So You Want to be a Psychedelic Researcher?", provides a number of specific strategies for those wishing to become involved in above-ground professions revolving around psychoactives.

Another short article with a description of the field of medical toxicology is, "Medical Toxicologists", by an Anonymous Tox Fellow
