What's the best method of storing cannabis?
Q: I've heard that marijuana can grow mold if kept for more than a week or so, and that it is not a good idea to smoke moldy weed (or moldy anything, I guess). Would storing it in the fridge be an effective method for preventing the growth of mold?

A: You're right, it's not really a good idea to be smoking moldy plant matter. It's most likely not deadly, but it certainly could cause an allergic reaction or other negative side effects.

Generally, keeping material dry is the most important step towards stopping the growth of mold. While a refrigerator will keep things cold it doesn't really do much for dryness. Refrigerators also frequently have a lot of molds in them.

One of the best storage methods for any plant material is to dry it thoroughly at a low temperature, then store it sealed in a glass jar like a mason jar. As long as it stays dry this will generally keep molds from growing.
