Incident: Alex Howse, 2010
In July 2010, 26-year-old Alex Howse stepped into traffic in front of a truck and died shortly after from the injuries sustained. Shortly before, he had snorted a large dose of 5-MeO-DALT.

The driver described how the deceased was continually grinning whilst walking on the motorway. At the inquest it was reported that he had earlier snorted 350 mg of 5-MeO-DALT (when the normal dose is 25 mg) in a public house with a friend who had purchased 1 g of it over the Internet for £20 (US$31, 23 Euro).

LD50 #
It is extremely difficult to determine an LD50 for a drug in humans. LD50s are only ever experimentally determined in animals, and extrapolations from one species to another for lethal dose are notoriously unreliable. With new drugs, there often isn't any animal data to extrapolate from.
