"I try to use art to make a visceral impact on the audience, whether that impact be socio-political, metaphysical, or aesthetic. Most of the art I've done is automatic, in that it is begun without a concept of what the finished product will look like. I'm influenced by a wide range of artists, but two of my favorites are Roberto Matta and Franz Marc."
