MDMA is a fantastic substance which has so much to offer. I have taken MDMA plenty of times and only ever had unbelievably positive experiences. Excluding this one occasion.
It was a friends birthday and we had started drinking at around 5pm, with the plan to go clubbing at around 10pm. Before leaving I had drunk a 70cl bottle of vodka (26.3 units) and was certainly very inebriated, but not out of control, still able to function, still cohesive (I have developed a strong tolerance to alcohol over the years). During the half hour walk to the club I drank two beers and as we arrived was at that point fairly all together.
However once we gained entry to the club I was, according to my friends as I have no memory of this, completely all over the place - knocking over tables, unable to speak, struggling to stand up. Basically everything I try to avoid when consuming alcohol but hey, everyone makes mistakes. Despite this, apparently strangers started buying me shots for their own amusement. The next thing I remember is leaving the club in slightly better shape to go to a squat party, on the way me and my friend stopped off at his house so I could drink some water and generally regroup. At this point I was dehydrated, very drunk but also aware and relatively in control. Until my buddy pulls out six grams of MDMA, tells me to rack myself a line whilst he goes to the toilet.
I have no idea how big that line really was, but my hand slipped as I poured it on to the table and I can confidently say it was at least more than a gram. I remember thinking 'holy shit, that's a lot' but was so drunk as to not think rationally about the dose as I normally would.

We got about 100 feet before, out of nowhere, things took a turn for the worst. I began to projectile vomit and suddenly didn't have a clue what was going on… I couldn't honestly describe it as unpleasant because I just had no idea what was happening. I was on my feet walking and talking but all awareness of my surroundings was non existent. I apparently convinced my buddy I was fine and to go the party and I would make my way home. Next thing I know a group of extremely kind and extremely concerned people were waking me up, at first I thought I was in my bed and was wondering what the hell these people were doing in my room!? In reality I was passed out in the middle of a busy road. How a car didn't flatten me I will never know. I managed to blurt out my address and those wonderful people who I will never know the identities of, carried me home. My best guess is that this happened at about 5am. At 8am, I woke up, face down on my kitchen floor, RELATIVELY sober, and absolutely covered in blood. The best way I can describe the way I looked was as if I'd had a fight with a brick wall. It felt horrible knowing that I had left myself that vulnerable.
The point I'm trying to make is - if you are extremely intoxicated don't take another substance, especially a high dose, because it it can send you over the edge. And being run over whilst passed out in the middle of the road is not a good way to go. I'm very lucky to be alive, and I have learnt my lesson. Enjoy intoxication, and I hate to sound like an anti drug commercial - but don't become a statistic. I nearly did.
