At the time, I was very experienced with taking MDMA, and my friends and I would follow all the precautions (I.e. staying hydrated, taking breaks from dancing, checking on each other). I had been rolling all summer at raves on the weekends, and as the fall semester of college approached, I had planned on quitting rolling in order to be as competent as possible in class.
My friends, my boyfriend, and I met up at this rave where one of our favorite DJ's was playing. My boyfriend and I had made a promise to each other to quit rolling, so he and I stayed sober for the night until about 1 am. Around 1 am, the headliner DJ was coming on, and we both looked at each other and said, 'Let's roll one more time'.

I gave him money and he went to one of his friends to get some. Since it was his friend, we got a lot more molly than what 30$ should buy. He put half of the crystals in my hand and half in his hand. I looked down at my hand and remembered thinking it was too much to take at one time.
I looked down at my hand and remembered thinking it was too much to take at one time.
I took it anyway though. We went into the main room and started dancing to the music. All of a sudden, I started rolling harder than I ever have in my life, but it wasn't normal. It was difficult to walk, and I felt like I was losing control. My eyes were rolling back. Within the next ten minutes, I was feeling my skin, and I noticed that my body wasn't hot at all, but that it felt like my brain was literally cooking inside of my skull. It's difficult to explain the feeling, but it was certainly not a good one. I knew what was happening, and I knew I needed to help myself as soon as possible. I walked up to a few people I knew, and I asked them had they ever felt this way. They looked at me concerned and said 'no'. I told my boyfriend that I was scared. The typical jaw-clenching from molly became an involuntary chattering of my teeth. I felt as though I was going to collapse and die. Some girl I didn't know stood in front of me and began covering my head with ice cubes. Several other people began massaging me while the ice was being applied. I'm very thankful for the help of these individuals. For the rest of the night I kept ice on my head.

After that experience, I dealt with a comedown that lasted about 3 weeks. It consisted of many extreme emotional breakdowns, episodes of crying for no reason. That experience was enough to scare me away from drugs. I do not want to roll ever again.

My advice to anyone that plans on taking MDMA is to make sure you test it before hand, and don't ever get too comfortable with thinking you have the ability to control everything. Always be extremely precautionary.
