I’ve been taking 10mg a night because of my insomnia. When I was first starting to trip it was fairly normal, or at least seemingly so. With the Ambien it adds another dimension to things and makes things seem like there is life in everything. Pictures become like little movies like the newspapers in Harry Potter. Figurines start to breath and make small movements (it almost feels like I'm in a very mellow Night at the Museum). The walls even start to breathe in and out.

The thing that I dislike the most about the experience is that there are these weird supernatural seeming cobweb things that come out of creases and openings (curtains, chair rails, open holes) and spread out through the room in the air. This cobweb substance also covers the walls in a layer about an inch thick, I can scoop it up with my hand and maneuver it, but once I bring it into the light it evaporates. All of these things for the most part don’t surprise me that they would be happening when I’m hallucinating, but the last couple of nights things started to get a bit stranger.

The night before last I had some strange things happen. My room gets pretty dark but it’s still light enough to see things when the lights go out. When I was lying in bed one time I opened my eyes and there was a shadow person sitting next to my bed; his shadow was blocking parts of my dresser. I closed my eyes but when I opened them again he was still there. There were also small figures hovering over and around me. They weren’t in the shape of a normal being nor the size, but I felt as though they were watching me. I surprisingly wasn’t as terrified as I would have thought, and lay there in silence. I finally decided to just close my eyes and try to get some sleep. One of the effects that Ambien has on me is that when I’m closing my eyes I start to feel floaty. That night though, it was extra strong ; I felt as though my mattress was being picked up and placed back down then back up again and slowly being turned around. I wasn’t having luck falling asleep as quickly as normal, so I opened my eyes and from my view point I was as high as my tall dresser (at least a few feet higher than I normally would be) and the room began to spin slowly back into its normal position and I was lowered softly back down.

Last night was even stranger. After the Ambien started to take effect I decided to try and meditate to see if I could recreate being raised above the room. When I closed my eyes and concentrated I could feel the couch rising up a little bit and being wobbly, I concentrated for a while and could feel myself on the couch raising and then lowering and raising again, also moving forward and backward. When I opened my eyes I noticed that I was at least three inches higher than before (I had made sure to make a visual note of what height I was at when I started) and slowly drifted down to my original position.

After that I decided it was time to go up to bed. I got into my room where I had my bedside lamp on and left my bedroom door open because the cat likes to come and go in the night (he was acting really strange and going crazy). I left the door open about a foot of the way. When I got under the covers I looked at the doorway and saw a black figure standing in the hallway. There is always enough light to see some of the things hanging on the wall in the hall, but it was completely blocked except for when the figure would move I could see a little bit of detail at the very top of the wall. What happened next was the door started opening and closing (not all of the way, but at least a few inches in either direction. Then the door and wall connecting to my closet stretched like a giant piece of rubber elastic to my left at least three feet (something that you would see in Looney Toons). Then the room spun around, it wasn’t like a dizzy or drunk kind of spinning it looked and felt very real. The wall and door stretched like elastic at least one more time and the room spun around several times.

I remained fairly calm during all of this and just kept looking back at the figure. Sometimes he would shoot something towards my direction and I decided to block it with my hand; when I did that it created a transparent web in between my fingers (it looked like when they show invisible cloaks in movies where you can slightly tell that something is there). The room continued to spin off and on and at times it would be on a tilt; I could even feel the pressure from it. I could see things on my wall that weren’t fully attached slighting moving in the direction of the tilt. My lamp flickered and the shadow from that changed as the room was spinning. Something that I found very interesting about the spinning was that the light coming from outside through the curtain faded and disappeared depending on what position the room was in. The light would go away when the room was in the opposite direction than it should be, and would fade back in when it was being put back into its correct place. There were also long thin snake like shadows (almost like a black translucent energy) that would come in from the doorway and hover above me.

The figure in the hall finally went away and I decided to shut my door and try to get some sleep. I turned out my lamp and closed my eyes, but when I opened them there was a black figure lying on my dresser moving around. Along with that there continued to be snake like shadows flowing in the air above me; I was intrigued so I stuck my hand thru them. They were ice cold and felt almost like a thick fog. Two bright white objects (although they didn’t reflect light) appeared in the darkest parts of my room where light couldn’t have been. One was a little bigger than a cigar, but about that shape and the other was dimmer and the shape of a golf ball but a little smaller. Once again I was intrigued and stuck my hand up towards it, it was too far away that I couldn’t touch it, but there is something magnetic about it. When I stuck my hand out I could feel my fingers being wrapped in what felt like that cobweb substance I mentioned before. As I brought it closer to my face it indeed looked like a web, but as I brought it farther into the light it dissolved.
Very weird night!

Overall, I have had, although extremely strange experiences, really cool ones. I have found that I seem to be different from a lot of the people with this substance in that even though I'm hallucinating strongly I'm still clear headed.
