I am writing this the morning after the event. Everything is still fresh in my head. Last night was the most terrifying experience of my life and I seriously felt like I was going to die. I bought 2 chocolate edibles from my sister's boyfriend and, according to him, there were about 15mg of THC in each edible, so 30mg in total would get me nice and baked I thought. Below is, to the best of my memory, the timeline of events.
5:27pm - I ingest both edibles, the chocolate was dry and old and faintly tasted like weed, everything was good so far.
6:00pm - I knew something was up when I began to feel tingly. I have taken edibles before and know that for me it takes 1.5-2 hours for them to take effect. I have done LSD about 9 times before and knew that the tingling I felt was like an LSD come up but it was 'off.' My peripheral vision began to glow gold and it was like I was surrounded my millions of fireflies and lanterns. The body load kept getting more intense and it was quite enjoyable so far. I began to zone-out and vividly daydream.
6:08pm - The effects are still getting stronger. Things are beginning to vibrate and move back and fourth. Object started to spin and leave long trails and tracers. My window A/C unit looked like a house and my blinds turned into golden rods. My floor tourned black and papers of it resembles interstellar objects, dancing in spacetime.
6:10pm - Ah yes, the familiar psychedelic intoxication began to take hold. Things seemed alive, soft, and malleable. My vision resembled what you see after staring at one of those optical illusion videos with the black and white spirals. My vision began to separate like looking through a kaleidoscope. Green fractal bobbles lines the walls and a coffe cup on my desk began to dance and move.
6:15pm - I notice my heart is beating really, really fast. I counted it beat 3-4 times a second. I began to feel chest pain and my arms became numb. Then my skin began to feel warn and my heart just would not slow down. I tried to reassure myself that 'it was just a drug' and I tried breathing exercises but to no affect.
6:17pm - Things became darker and darker, I felt like no matter what I did I could not get enough oxygen. My stomach began to tighten and turn like I was going to throw up, it felt like there were pins in my stomach. I thought that this was it, I was dying, all my life has come to this moment and I'm just going to die here, alone, in my bed. The center of my vision became black and darkness started to fall around me, I couldn't breath. I began to panic and my breath felt like exhaling poison. It felt like I was about to have a heart attack or a seizure. I fell back on my bed and just looked at the darkness slowly creeping over me, unable to fight it off I gave up and accepted my death, there was nothing I could do about it. Just as the darkness was to finish enveloping me I could breath again, the darkness quickly subsided and I regained control of my trip.
6:20pm - My heart was still pounding but I was in the clear from that point on. All I could think about was how I nearly killed myself, how I almost lost everything. The psychedelic intoxication mellowed out and was now feeling like a good hit of LSD but with a huge body load and having slightly 'off' visuals.
6:50pm - I was eventually able to calm down and started having a good experience.
I was eventually able to calm down and started having a good experience.
9:30pm - I feel tired and I finally go to sleep while getting lost in the sound of my fan, allowing the sound to form vivid visions in my head.
4:43am - I wake up feeling well rested but with a throbbing migraine, chest soreness, and generally feeling like complete shit. I feel shaky and unnerved. I am still tripping a little bit as objects vibrate and look alive but this is only a fraction of what I was seeing before.
9:00am - It is now that I am finishing the report. I feel chest pain on my right side, still have a headache, and I just want to sleep. I still have some visual distortions with perspective, proportion, and things vibrating or wobbling. I'm going to have a talk with my sister's boyfriend when he wakes up and tell him his edibles are spiked with something. I wish I knew what I took but I'm just so glad to be alive. I hope to God I don't have brain damage or something from my near death episode.
The chocolate I had was a trapezoid in shape with a pot leaf in the lower corner. The bar had a gold foil colored wrapper and was apparently from California.
