Subjective Effects of Kratom

Kratom [7-hydroxymitragynine, mitragynine, mitragynine pseudoindoxyl, mitraphylline, raubasine, yohimbe alkaloids]-
6.5g enhanced dried leaves, orally

0:00- orally ingested 6.5g enhanced dried leaves in capsule form.
+0:10- slight tightness and warm sensation to the eyes, as if not blinking for an extended period of time. Not uncomfortable whatsoever.
+0:18- driving to get food, though driving is not advisable, and I notice an increased urge to socialize with my passenger. Euphoric, empathetic effects are duly noticed.

+0:30- slight shaking and trembling upon moving about, though these side effects dissipate as the experience progresses.
+0:35- strong euphoria and sense of wellbeing along with the increased desire to smoke a cigarette. I also notice a slight blur to my vision.
+0:45- definite analgesic properties, as the dull pain in my right shoulder is practically unnoticeable. Slight stimulation though not overbearing, and quite relaxed all the same.

+1:00- simultaneous increased and decreased alertness of the body. Hard to describe this; whereas the feeling of pain is absent, the awareness of bodily functions such as heart rate, and body temperature are increased, though these feelings are not discomforting.
+1:30- still noticing a jump in my sociability.

+2:00- enhanced perception of the visual qualities of light. Not quite 'psychedelic' , but some sort of change. As if at times light isn't quite brighter but the blue hues of all light is increasingly noticeable to the eye.
+2:30- sociability decreases slightly, analgesia remains for the most part. Stimulation decreases while desire to lie down and fall asleep increases.
+2:45- analgesia now also decreases, visual blur as well.

+3:00- majority of desired effects of the substance have diminished. I notice a slight agitation and decreased desire to socialize, nearly opposite of how I felt during the peak of the experience.
+3:45- near baseline now, and I notice a desire to repeat the experience. This signifies a definite addictive quality to kratom.

+6:00- slight hangover effect is beginning and I'm developing a headache which starts to feel like a migraine over the next couple hours. I orally take 1g and after 30 minutes the headache begins to go away. Evidence of analgesic effects are very apparent in kratom's active constituents.

+10:00 upon waking from minor sleep, the effects of the 1g I took at +6:00 are gone and the headache has returned. Try to sleep again, falling asleep was quite easily accomplished, surprisingly.
+14:00- headache is less intense but still present, so I take another 3g.
+14:20- headache is totally gone.

All in all, the experience was pleasant, great qualities to kratom including euphoria, analgesia, increased sociability, increased empathy of others, and very minor and non-psychedelic visual distortions, also not quite described as hallucinations. During sleep I also experienced intensely vivid dreaming that were sexual in nature. Possibly a result of kratom's active constituents, possibly not.

Kratom also possesses negative qualities such as hangover, headache, slight depression though not intense, and a desire to habituate the experience.
