I noticed there are not a lot of trip reports on MXP, so I will try my best to shed some light on the topic. You can skip to the trip report if you don't care about the background info.
Background: Me: Female, 24, 5'8, 130 pounds, extensive drug history, experience with several dissociatives (dxm, ketamine, mxe), healthy, had been sober for 3 weeks prior, no other medications. I have been very sensitive in the past to mushrooms and lsd so I tend to take every drug easy at first.
Friend: Male, 25, 5'8, 160 pounds, extensive drug history, experience with several dissociatives (dxm & ketamine), healthy, had been sober for probably a month prior, no other medications.
Setting: House sitting for a friend, very comfortable house with all the amenities, music, food, etc. My friend and I have been best friends for 8 years, so we are very comfortable with each other. Decided to start dosing around 9pm, hoping to get to sleep around 4am.
Prior Knowledge: Did some basic research on the drug, knew vaguely what to expect, didn't personally know anyone who had tried it.
T + 0:00 Insufflated 30mg of mxp. It really burns, I thought I could handle it, but it burns continuously for about 5 minutes until it backs off a bit. Doesn't really taste like anything though so that was nice.
T + 0:30 Feel very little, possibly tipsy, possibly placebo. Insufflate another 30mg (I decided I already burned my nostril once, might as well keep doing it).
T + 0:50 Start to feel a bit uncoordinated and head spacey. No closed eye visuals, no open eye visuals. Easy to communicate still.
T + 1:10 Decide to insufflate another 50mg (usually I don't redose but this was my only night to get high for the next month). Friend also decides to insufflate 60mg at this point.
T + 1:30 Start to feel a bit dissociated. Some robowalking occurring. Can still easily talk to my friend but it sounds as if there is some echoing. The lights are annoying so we turned them off. Closed my eyes and it makes me feel more dissociated from the room but no closed eye visuals.
T + 1:50 Decide fuck it, let's do this. Insufflate another 50mg, bringing the total to 160mg. Friend says he feels slightly drunk.
T + 2:00 Start to feel noticeably dissociated and definite robowalking. Decide to go lay down in a dark room by myself. Try to listen to music but I am not really interested. Not quite at the hole-ing stage (not sure if it has a hole in the same sense that other dissociatives do, but I didn't get there). Turn off the music and just lay down. I had been driving for 7 hours previously that day so my closed eye visuals started to be just me driving down the highway (yes, that sucked). So I just was visualizing driving down the highway and basically trying to map out my life. It felt a lot more lucid than ketamine. I was trying to plan things out that I was having trouble with and trying to avoid. So while it was helpful, it wasn't necessarily fun.
T + 3:00 Less closed eye visuals, get up to see my friend. He said he just felt a bit drunk and was playing games. We basically sat around for an hour reminiscing (we hadn't seen each other in awhile). Still have some robowalking happening, difficult to keep my train of thought.
T + 4:00 Hungry. Cook a huge meal. Was still a bit dissociated so I maybe shouldn't have been using a giant ass chef's knife, but it was fun and I cook a lot.
T + 5:00 Definitely starting to feel sober after eating. Very very awake. Stay awake talking about normal things, very little dissociative feelings.
T + 6:00 Try to sleep.
T + 7:00 After rolling around for an hour, fall asleep.
We both woke up this morning feeling absolutely fine, no hangover. A bit tired because I only slept 6 hours rather than my usual 8.
Overall, I might not do it again. I have been phasing out of the drug lifestyle. If you are looking for a sub for another dissociative I didn't find it to be a likely candidate, it is definitely it's own chemical. I enjoyed the low-moderate dose experience it seemed to be.
