A little background on my drug history:

At age 8 I was diagnosed with depression and ADHD, and was prescribed stimulants at an early age. In the interest of relevancy, I will limit my past experience to stimulants. I have been prescribed and taken Adderall, Ritalin, Focalin, and Strattera for my ADHD, and illicit stimulant use has involved cocaine, methamphetamine, MDMA, and ethylphenidate. My natural tolerance to stimulants is high, and I have been habituated to intravenous use of the 4 illicits mentioned as well.

I am currently receiving treatment after a 5 year hiatus for my ADHD, and have been prescribed Focalin, in the IR formula, 10mg doses. Upon receiving my prescription, curiosity came over me as although I never abused my prescriptions, I had heard that this chemical in particular could be quite recreational, as well as possessing a high abuse liability and addiction risk.

My mindset has been markedly upbeat, as my new life is working out well after bottoming out in the last semester of university. I am prone to depressive episodes, but I am not experiencing issues with that as of late. Eager to experiment, I am at home in a nice apartment, with no potential stressors for the experiment.

T:05 - I began with a single tablet, crushed it extremely finely on the surface of my phone using a card. The generic I have received has no anti-abuse mechnisms in the formula and turned into a light and voluminous powder. I use a rolled piece of paper to insufflate the two lines I cut out of the resulting pile. The powder entered my nose with 0 pain, and also giving a strangely floral and sweet aroma and flavor. No drip is observed, I wonder if Ihave insufflated properly, and feel a slight heart rate increase, no euphoria, and a mild mood lift.

T:15 - Deciding that my tolerance must have remained at a slightly elevated level after a period of IV stimulant abuse, I crush another 10mg tablet, this time noticing a slight hand tremor and attention to the consistency of the powder. I insufflate 2 more lines, one in each nostril, again the same aroma and painless entry, yet no drip. This time my heart rate increased much more markedly, and phsyical stimulation is noticed. Still no euphoria, and now I am noticing a strange feeling in my stomach, almost as if it is being pressed in by an invisible girdle. I check my pupils in the mirror: no dilation, no nystagmus. My speech seems a little impeded when I speak to my grandmother, coming out sometimes unintentionally very soft and dry. I had observed this effect on massive doses of intravenous ethylphenidate before; this time it is not nearly as alarming. I drink a large glass of cranberry juice and another of water at this time. It should be noted that I am not experiencing any appetite suppression as I would normally on stimulants. I wonder again if for some reason I am not absorbing the chemical properly in my nasal passage.
I wonder again if for some reason I am not absorbing the chemical properly in my nasal passage.

T:30 - In a last ditch effort, another tablet is crushed and the process is repeated. This time I feel a slight rush and mild euphoria, but my heart rate did not increase on this dose. It subsides within seconds, and I decide it isnt worth my time or the risk of no sleep this evening to continue. I eat dinner with my grandmother and felt some slight appetite suppression, but I ate enough to satiate me. My grandmother and I have a wonderful conversation about everything from my current state of affairs to our beliefs in the afterlife.

T:1:15 - I am now on the couch in the living room on my computer, writing up this report. I feel strangely fatigued, and I believe sleep will actually be easier tonight than normal after I take my prescribed dose of Mirtazapine. I am still left wondering why I did not experience a drip, perhaps my technique and hypothesis that a slow insufflation will trap more in the cavity is flawed. I may repeat the experiment in a week or so to test this theory.
