I had obtained 100mg of 4-ACO-DMT to try it out. I tested 10mg maybe 3 days before my experience with 30mg with pleasing results so I figured if I bump up the dose it would be even better. I weighed out 30mg of 4-ACO-DMT and 100mg of MDMA for each of 3 capsules to be taken at a concert with friends, 1 capsule for each of us. Let's call them A and B for now.

A is much more experienced with psychedelics, and drugs in general, than me. He has used LSD literally hundreds of times and mushrooms a few times though he says they're just a 'cocktease to LSD'. B on the other hand has had just a handful of trips, mushrooms and some low doses of LSD. I have tripped probably 12-15 times, all on LSD at varying doses, except for once where I took 2 tabs of 25c-nBOME.

T+0:00 Swallowed capsule as I was standing in line to go in, about an hour before the music would begin. Had a beer, then went outside with the smokers. Was offered a hit from a joint, and accepted, though I don't feel I as though it affected the overall experience.

T+0:30 Already feeling effects. Almost like a switch was flipped from baseline to high. OEVs quite noticeable already, lots of morphing and breathing effects as well as long tracers. Got that 'uh-oh' feeling I'd had before with 500mcg of LSD. Still, I was ecstatic.

T+0:45 Went inside to wait for the music. Standing in front of the stage looking at the drum set in the colored lighting, I got very intense, almost nauseating, OEVs. It was almost as if what I was seeing was a video and each frame was persistent for a second or more, staying layered over the next frame and quickly drifting off to one side or the other. I think it was about this point I took another capsule containing just 50mg of MDMA and nothing else. I'm not sure why except that it is what I had planned on doing ahead of time.

I closed my eyes for a while, opting to watch the intense CEVs instead. Time was already meaningless. I simply stood there alone in front of the stage with my eyes closed as people started to fill in around me. I began to experience something quite new to me, a 'tone' sort of like tinnitus, that intensified more and more until it felt as though my very being would be destroyed. It was almost too much as I considered finding an empty spot of the floor to sit on. But then...

T+1:00 The band came on stage. I had never experienced musical euphoria to this extent. I decided to find the group I came with and danced with some of them for the entire hour and a half set of the first band. I don't usually dance. I felt as if the crowd was a larger organism that I was simply a part of.

Thoughts and lyrics seemed very profound at this stage. That's underselling it: I felt as though I had been exposed to something divine (As an atheist, divinity is a difficult concept for me, yet that is the word I keep coming back to when thinking about my experience), as if 'God' had reached out and touched my mind. The combination of the drug and the music transported me to a truly mystical experience, which quite honestly was a bit much for the setting.

T+2:30 The band left the stage and I wandered around looking for people I knew. Found one of the other two who took one of my capsules, he was in the same state as myself. I calmed down a bit while talking to him, and almost felt as though I might be coming down. But then the headliner came on stage.

T+3:00 I went back down to the stage and within 30 seconds of the first song I was punted right back into intense psychedelia. Pretty much same as before, except I got freaked out by an unattractive, very persistent, middle aged woman trying to get me to have sex with her.

T+4:00 I had to separate myself from the situation. I went to the bathroom and refilled my water bottle, and the worst thing happened: The switch was flipped the other way. I went from high to 'baseline' (not really, but it felt like like it at the time due to the contrast) in a matter of seconds and stayed there the rest of the night. I spent the rest of the show leaning against a wall, not really listening to the music, just contemplating what had happened over the last few hours. I felt very disappointed and malcontent. 'A' reports this exact phenomenon as well, though 'B' seems to have had a smoother transition.

T+6:00 Left the venue, took a cab back to the hotel where our large group (20+) was staying. Feeling exhausted mentally and physically I laid in bed listening to music with my eyes closed, going deep into a reverie or trance when left uninterrupted for extended periods of time. CEVs still present but not real intense.

The rest of the night turned out pretty bad as our entire group was kicked out of the hotel for being rowdy and smoking pot in the rooms, but that wasn't effected by the drug as I felt nearly sober at that point. Sure, we were upset, but not because of the drugs. 'B' on the other hand was very upset, stressing about everything. I think he was still tripping pretty hard at that point. His fears were only justified when we got kicked out of the hotel.

T+10:00 I finally manage to get some sleep. I slept for maybe 3-4 hours and woke up feeling refreshed. I felt rejuvenated, wide awake, happy, and ready to go.

This experience led to a much greater appreciation for the unpredictable power of psychedelics. I really should have tried this in a more controlled setting to find out how it would affect me before taking it at a concert. All new substances from now on are going to be tested at home first. However, I am grateful for this experience and look forward to future experimentation with 4-ACO-DMT.
