I took this medicine to combat insomnia. It worked great and I slept well. Then one night, I woke up with a painful, full-on erection. Priapism is listed as a side effect, and you don't even want to think about how it is treated. Thankfully it went away after 40 awful minutes.

I told my shrink years later I couldn't take trazadone for sleep, and she knew exactly what happened, so this must be a distinct possibility. It could even work well for years and then turn on ones genitals out of the blue. I don't want to risk having a needle in my dick or sphincters severed.
