Yes, I am a medical doctor and “weekend bandit”. I currently take fluoxetine (40 mg q.d.) and buproprion XR (150 mg q.d.). I acquired 1 g of MDMA crystals that tested positive for MDMA with a rapid and complete color change from screening solutions and the MDMA was from a reputable dealer. I divided the dose by dividing in half the crushed crystals, and repeating until 16 doses were obtained (approximately 62.5 mg each, referred from here on as “dose”).

Trial 1:
1 dose orally- Waited 1.5 hours and nothing.
T+ 90 min- added 1 dose orally
T+130 min- slight increase in pulse, threshold euphoria.
T+200 min- Insufflated 2 doses.
T+230 min- still only slight increase in euphoria.

Redosed q 30 min. orally with 4 more doses until 8 doses (500 mg) were taken in total for the day. Threshold effects only. Vasoconstriction caused drying of sinuses as expected with sympathomimetics.

Trial 2 (next day)
2 doses rectally +1 dose smoked
T+ 45 min- slight increase in euphoria
Trial 3 (day 3)
Remaining 5 doses (~312 mg) taken orally at once
T+60 min- only slight euphoria

There are two possible conclusions. 1) The MDMA was not MDMA and the color reagent cross reacted with something else to give a false positive result. Or 2) The buproprion and fluoxetine severely attenuated the effects of MDMA.

However, my 180 lb partner in pharmaceutical bioassay, also dosed with approx. 100 mg and rolled till dawn. Though still anecdotal, this supports the anti-synergistic effects of SSRI’s on MDMA. Although the difference in body weight is a factor, my total doses were more than compensatory.
