I've suffered from social anxiety and manic depression since high school. I've tried several SSRIs, anti depressants, and benzos. Zoloft, Paxil, Wellbutrin, Valium, and Xanax. Zoloft worked for about 6 months before making me feel suicidal. Xanax worked great but lost its effectiveness after a while and I became dependent.

My psychiatrist prescribed Buspar three months ago starting at 10mg 3 times daily. The first few days had some unpleasant side effects such as dizziness, mania, increased anxiety, and constipation. After a week the side effects went away.

Currently on 15mg. I have a lot more energy, depression is gone, anxiety is still present but manageable. This drug works very well for me.

I've read from multiple people that this drug did not work for them. I was skeptical to try this medicine but I'm glad I did.
