Yo Gaba Gaba First Gabapentin Experience

For neuropathic pain, Gabapentin was provided by the general physician. Some light reading was done to research the effects and 2 pills were taken in order to experiment with a safe dosage. This was the first ever experience with this type of prescription and for medical reasons had to happen.

The effects set in about an hour after ingestion, give or take, and quickly decreased mental function. Colors did seem brighter, but thoughts (even simple words) took what felt like forever to form. This was easily noticed by others, so socialization was limited to decrease the anxiety/embarrassment brought on by the others’ perception of stupidity. Other senses were also heightened: touch was very enjoyable (petting cats felt heavenly) and food tasted amazing.

Overall, the first time using this medication the effects lasted about 4-5 hours and were pleasant, the resultant deficient mental capacity was not. Physically, the medication seemed to take a toll on the GI system after it wears off (nausea, stomach upset, malaise). The day after, mood also took a hit. Depression worsened for the day and suicidal thoughts emerged. Took about a day or two to feel normal again and a break was in order because it had brought the mood down so much.
