On My Lunch Break
Ephedra sinica & Fasting

DOSE:
0.5 cups oral Ephedra sinica (tea)
BODY WEIGHT: 210 lb
I took about a half cup of dried Ephedra Sinica and simmered it for three hours with three cups of water and two tablespoons worth of lemon juice. The Ephedra was strained off using a coffee filter and the remaining liquid (about 60 ml) was placed in the refrigerator for 12 hours. The following day, it was consumed:

11:30 am: I consume the tea after fasting for about 12 hours. The taste is near unbearable, but a few sticks of gum help.

12:00 pm: First effects noticed. The tips of my fingers are cold, yet my palms are sweaty. Jitters are also noticed.

12:30 pm: I am attempting to do in-class work. It is near impossible because I write about 100 words per minute, but I think of the next 1000 words every second. Hyperactivity localized to the hands and legs is most prominent.

1:00 pm: My lunch time. All hunger (now about 14 hours of fasting) is gone, but my energy levels are soaring. My mood also seems to be improved for the better, as I am more sociable and friendly.

1:30 pm: I expected this to last longer, but I already feel a comedown on my energy levels. Same effects of increased mood and localized hyperactivity are present, but decreased.

2:00 pm: All effects gone, slightly tired in a physical and mental way.

Overall, quite a good experience. Next time, I will consume the tea before I workout, and I presume that the effects will be used in a much better way.
