At 4:00pm, I put 20.0 grams of morning glory 'Pearly Gates' seeds in a thick plastic bag and crushed them with a hammer. I put the crushed seeds into an 8 ounce amber jar and added about one and a half ounces of 190 proof grain alcohol
I put the crushed seeds into an 8 ounce amber jar and added about one and a half ounces of 190 proof grain alcohol
At about 10:45pm, I broke a bagel into bite sized pieces and used three pieces to soak up the remaining alcohol, which seemed thick, and wipe the dark grey brown residue off of the surface of the dish. I ate the bagel pieces with the residue, which was difficult because they tasted bad, like bitter and nutty, and also the little bit of remaining alcohol was hot in my mouth and tasted bad. I felt a slight bit of come up, like an increase in energy, after about 20 minutes, a + level, and the effects did not increase over the next hour and a half, at which point I concluded the experiment, deeming it inconclusive, and went to sleep.
The next morning at 7:00am, I crushed 42.1 grams of morning glory 'Pearly Gates' seeds and repeated my previous procedure, but this time after adding the alcohol and sealing the lid to the jar, I let the pulp and alcohol mingle for about 22 hours, agitating as often as I remembered, every half hour or so. That next morning at about 6:30am, I strained the pulp and alcohol mixture through a coffee filter placed in a wire mesh screen, which took over ten minutes, slowly dripping into the ceramic dish. I evaporated most of the alcohol again, leaving a thick residue that I soaked and wiped up with bagel bites again.
It was just about 7:00am when I ate the bagel pieces with the residue. By 7:20 I felt I was again at a + level. By 7:40 I felt I was at a ++ level, colors were brighter, patterns stood out, and the wood grain on my dresser looked exquisitely defined, but there was not much more intensity than that, no morphing or hand trails. I stayed at a ++ level for the next several hours, and concluded the experiment, deeming it a success, though not as intense of a trip as I had been hoping for.
I think that the effects of the second experiment and my experience were dulled by the fact that I had only just completed the first experiment a day and a half earlier, and there was probably a tolerance issue with my physiology.
