Following is two attempts to describe a very bizarre and slightly unsettling DMT experience. I'll note that for the most part, the trip wasn't explicitly unpleasant - there was no fear, dread, etc. Yet, there was no beauty, profundity, or awe. There did seem to be, however, significance. This trip was remarkable in that it was the most boring experience of my life, despite being an immensely powerful trip.

As I note, it felt immediately as if I had purposefully been brought to this place. There was some sort of experience of gaining knowledge, and that of an entity, though these effects felt as if they could have been stronger, perhaps with 5-10mg more. This was a bland experience, yet it taught lessons beyond what I can word here. I decided to trip late one night, unplanned, and unnecessary. I wasn't looking for anything in particular, but wanted to see what I might find. I was on ketamine, and dissociated. I was in a good mood, but not in a mindset prepared for responsible exploration.

First report, immediately following experience
6/6/17 12:07 am

I took ketamine periodically throughout the evening [100mg Ketamine], and then 30mg of DMT [Reported Dose given as '5-10mg DMT']. It was bizarre. I didn’t quite break through… but I was going places. Very bland places. Such as the dentist, the supermarket, Staples… The sound of my heater and fan influenced this no doubt. The sounds became long, droning, ethereal office noises. Staplers, fax machines.

The colors of my trip were beige, grey, peach, tan. At one point, I followed a perceptual dentist of sorts, through halls. Another time felt as if I was the essence of a boring paper, being filed away for a boring eternity. It was very odd. Ketamine and DMT are a complicated relationship.

Second report, written today (6/14/17)

This trip was unbelievably bland... I would describe the atmosphere of the trip as a small work office, or a dentist.. at one point, it felt as if the entity accompanying me was walking me through this bizarre deemland version of a dentistry place. There were long, drawn out droning sounds, and office or dentist like sounds. A hyperdimensional photocopier, or a fax booming out its monotonous sounds; always a deep vibration perceptually associated with industrial air vents or other workplace/factory machinery.

The trip was mostly tan and beige in color. Throughout, it the deem communicated that I did not need to be in a sacred place, so they brought me here. It was almost like a hell of sorts, or a limbo, in its boringness.
It was almost like a hell of sorts, or a limbo, in its boringness.
The culmination of these perceptions was when, for fleeting eternity, I morphed into the existence of a single, boring, office document. I became the essence of a paper document, insignificant, and floated from where my head was into a filing cabinet before me.

I was given the experience of being filed away indefinitely; it became known to me that this could be my existence, if I so lead myself there. As I came down, it felt as if they were letting me go after a tough-love lesson, or a necessary scolding of a child. I was humbled, but never humiliated. Joy and awe were not given to me, but no true suffering was inflicted upon me.

As I came down, I got the sense of a goodbye, and an invitation to return under more appropriate circumstances.
