A Lot of Caffeine

I was at work and had only managed to get 5 hours of sleep. As I was really sleep deprived, the first thing I did was make a coffee from the filter. I had a regular mug, how I like it 2 tsbp and 2 tsbp of sugar and mostly milk. This is around 8:40 am.

I was fine, more alert and ready to get on with working.

Around lunchtime, I took a coffee break, alongside eating. By this point my earlier coffee had worn off. By 1:30 I was falling asleep at my desk. I went to the corner shop and bought a small can of Boost.

I did something really stupid. I poured my Boost into my coffee. I drank it slowly, since it tasted fairly disgusting, also it felt like my liver had been shot. I had put on some happy hardcore music and hallucinated a rainbow soundwave that matched in time to the music through my earphones. I was bobbing up and down subtly, hyperfocused and twitchy. I typed faster and was able to multitask. For the next 4 hours until work ended I was high and on the edge of tripping balls.

It was a coffee and energy drink caffeine experience I have never experienced since. (Energy drinks make it easier to hallucinate if I have enough or they are strong enough). Once I got home, I had a massive comedown off the sugar and caffeine high and suddenly felt all the exhaustion that all the caffeine had kept at bay. I went to take a nap.

I stayed awake all night unable to sleep.
