I took two tramadol 50mg tablets at around 5pm. I have no tolerance to opioids and this was my first time taking anything recreationally other than alcohol, weed, and cigs. I downed them with water and went back to watching a show with my roommate for the next hour.

6:30 PM: We have to pick something up from a friend’s house down the street, and since I wasn’t feeling anything yet I drove there. While I was driving, I started to feel the effects. We were on a road I knew well with a low speed limit and wide lanes, but I was nervous and ready to get back nonetheless. As I drove, It was as if I was driving more on instinct than actively making decisions. My mind focused on details around me and I enjoyed noticing them. Looking at things and examining them was just interesting to me. No visual distortion though.

6:40 PM: We arrive at the friends house and my roommate goes in. I stay in the car. I lay my seat back and relax, noticing waves of giddiness and euphoria come over me but unable to pinpoint why exactly I’m happy. I haven’t forgotten that I took the pills, so I can attribute it to that in the moment. I’m enjoying myself.

6:50 PM: My roommate and our friend come out to the car to put a box in my trunk. I get out and walk around to open it, noticing some bounciness in my step. I lean against the car and talk to our friend, who I usually have trouble talking to (anxiety reasons) but I’m able to talk freely and read his reactions as positive (I usually have a problem of misreading people’s reactions as negative, even if it’s untrue) and it was nice. I had trouble speaking somewhat though. And my words would stumble over one another, but it wasn’t too bad.

6:55 PM: Drove back home, same effects as before.

7:00 PM: Got home and played around on my computer for a while, still feeling good. My memory from here on out gets fuzzy.

Sometime after 7:30 PM: I took another 50mg pill in preparation for bed. I don’t remember anything afterward. I think I stayed up a bit and slept around 11:00PM.

8:00 AM: I wake up, feeling sick. My heart is beating slowly and my breaths are shallow. I instantly attribute it to a small hangover and get out of bed, knowing I’ll likely vomit when I stand (I always do when feeling sick). Sure enough, I stand up and instantly rush to the bathroom to vomit. Very little comes out. I take a sip of water. Instantly, it hits my stomach and comes back up.

I decide that a hot shower will help, so I sit in the hot water for about 20 minutes.

9:00 AM: I get out of the shower, and standing up makes my head swim. There is heavy pressure behind my eyes and in the back of my neck. The pressure make me dizzy, which in turn makes me sick. I vomit again.

9:10 AM: the pressure remains and I’m constantly nauseous. I figure that smoking a smal bowl of weed will help, as it usually does.

9:30 AM: I finish smoking less than half a gram and begin to feel better. I hop back in the shower to ride the high out and let the water hit my neck to make it feel better. It works well. For as long as I’m in the shower I feel great, and I start to make plans for the day in my head.

10:30 AM: I zoned out hard because the shower felt so good and I was high. I got out an hour later. The moment I stood up once the water was off, my head swam and pounded. It wasn’t worse than before but it was back, and I was coming down from my high too so the nausea was coming back.

10:40 AM: I go to my room and lay down in bed, falling asleep soon.

12:30 PM: I wake up again and repeat the exact same things as before... wake up, stand, rush to bathroom, vomit, smoke a little, feel fine, quick shower, and then back to bed.

This happened three times until 4:00PM, each time split by short naps.

4:00 PM: I woke up and vomited again, but this time it was much more acidic. It was horrible. I vomited much more than the previous times. I ended it with another quick shower and smoked again. After this, I felt better and continued to feel better, but my muscles were weak and I felt exhausted, so I laid back down in bed to relax.

I fell asleep and woke up at 5am the morning after, all effects gone and feeling fine.

I basically lost a whole day during the hangover, I hardly moved from my bed and bathroom for 24 hours, but only remember it vaguely... like it was all a dream that I’m losing the details of very quickly. I can’t remember what I felt while I was feeling the effects of the pills, only the little bit that I wrote down. I know there was a lot more and that I enjoyed it a lot, but I just barely know why. It’s like my brain deleted the information while I was sick and sleeping on and off, so that my only memory of the experience is negative.

Maybe I took too high of a dose for my first time. The extra 50mg I took later in the day must have put my over the edge.

The hangover was similar to alcohol, but with less vomiting (I puke constantly until it’s over on an alcohol hangover) and more dizziness, memory loss, and longer duration.
