I invited two friends to join me while I tried this fairly obscure research chemical for the first time. It is supposed to be an entactogen and I figured it would be nice to have some company as I explored the substance. The first friend, John, wanted to join me in taking 3-FEA, whereas the other friend, Dave, opted for MDMA. Dave preferred the MDMA because he doesn't care much for the novelty of trying a new substance, and rather wanted to be certain of a positive experience instead.

John is pretty experienced with different substances, and we have taken substances together many times. The PsychonautWiki in our experience gives fairly accurate dosage advice, and as such we figured following its advice in this instance was the best way to go as neither of us had tried this substance before. According to PsychonautWiki a "common" dosage for this substance is between 35-70mg. To play it safe - and taking in account our experiences with other amphetamine-derived stimulants relative to their recommended doses - John and I decided on a 50mg dose each. I weighed these out with a milligram scale and dissolved them in water.

We downed our doses while Dave took his dissolved MDMA. The taste was a bit nasty but washed away quickly, making for only a moment of discomfort.

T+0:20
The first alert is noted, a feeling of anticipation that is expected from stimulants.

T+0:30
A roommate came downstairs and sat with us as we waited for the effects to appear. We played some card games and had a good time. Dave was having a really difficult come-up and left the room to sit in a quieter environment for a bit. The anticipation and tight feeling in my jaw is slowly building.

T+0:50
I'm noticing that the effects have stalled and seem to be going nowhere. I'm moderately uncomfortable and opted to join Dave for a while as he was listening to music upstairs. I decide that I will up my dosage through insufflation if the effects stay this lackluster.

T+1:20
The effects are decidedly lackluster and I decide to up my dose by 25mg intranasally. I take half of this dose now, and half 10 minutes later, because I'm reluctant to push this substance just yet. John takes his 25mg in one go 10 minutes later.

T+1:40
Everything has certainly ramped up and I faintly felt some sort of rush, but not much was happening and the euphoria that I expected was nowhere to be found. John's experience is very similar at this point.

T+2:20
I decide another redose is in order. Another 25mg goes up the sneeze chute. It has the same effect the last 25mg dose did, and nothing really seems to change. I certainly feel more stimulated than before, but it's not very pleasurable and I feel tense more so than anything else.

T+3:10
John and I are growing a little frustrated with the experience being so lacking in euphoria, so we decide to push the next redose a little more. 40mg is what we decide on, and we both insufflate this amount in one go.

T+3:20
This dose is certainly a lot better. The effects amped up and I feel a mild euphoria. It's nothing to write home about, but I think we are headed in the right direction.

T+3:50
We decide to go for a walk. Walking is effortless as it always is for me on stimulants, and we are talking about a host of different things. The sun has gone down by this point and the woods near my home are a nice place to explore on any substance.

T+5:15
John and I dose 40mg intranasally again, as the experience has been ebbing away for the past hour. The effects from insufflated doses seem to be very short-lasting for us.

T+?:??
I did not make notes on coming down, but did notice that I had no trouble sleeping at night. I noticed no "suicide Tuesday" type crash and had no comedown effects besides some sleepiness from the light sleep the next day.

In retrospect, this substance hasn't been remarkable in any way just yet. I suspect that a bigger dose may be the way to go, and will be trying this when the time and place allow it. The quick rushes after insufflated doses lead me to think that there is potential for a very worthwhile experience - just not at the doses I took this time.
