DOSE:
15 mg oral Pharms - Mirtazapine (daily)
BODY WEIGHT: 120 lb
Mirtazapine doesn't have rec value but it's the only antidepressant that has been effective. Unfortunately, I experienced bad side effects. I was 120 pounds when I started taking it, and after 6 weeks I was 162 pounds. I have tried Celexa, Effexor, Zoloft, Prozac, Pamelor, Trazodone, Wellbutrin, Buspar, and more, with either bad side effects or worsened anxiety.

I finally had my depression lifted and it was great. I got so fat I had to stop taking it. I'm only 5'2" and I gained roughly 40 pounds in a 6 week span. Also, 2% of people experience low back pain (it's probably more) but I kept waking up at 5-6 a.m. with intense low back pain. I have a fractured facet joint (L5 S1) with arthritis and a bulging disk so I have low back pain to begin with. After a few weeks, the pain got so intense I couldn't stand it anymore, but I had no idea it was from the Remeron.

Even though Remeron is an old antidepressant it was effective for me. I've gone back to having bad depression without any medications having positive effects.
