Kanna Tripping

A brief of my background. I'm 27 years of age and consider myself a psychonaut. I've experienced over 90 different psychoactive substances and plants.This one is about my recent experience on a kanna extract. I've dabbled with kanna extract a few times all with quite pleasant experiences.

I had a few grams left over and decided it's time to give it another go for the sake of writing about it. A good friend came over and I introduced it to him. I laid out 2 100mg lines one for me, the other for my friend. We proceeded to snort our shares. It was rather easy and smooth to snort, unlike most internausal plants. I hardly noticed it coming up my nose. The drip was minorly unpleasant though. My friend laid on the bed in anticipation for the unknown. I tossed on some music in preparation.

I was aware this dose was a little higher than I'm used to so I was preparing for a more intense trip than I'm used to. About two minutes in I'm feeling a slight dissociative head high coming on. My friend, eyes wide open looked quite surprised with how powerful kanna was. He closed his eyes, totally willing to listen to whatever music I put on. He seemed to enjoy it. I can tell seeing that large smile on his face. I, on the other hand, was moving around. Visuals were very minimal, similar to opiates in the sense my visual field is a second slowed down. Kanna is a strange plant. It's euphoric for sure, yet I had some trouble forming thoughts or figuring out what to do with myself. It's similar to a dissociative in that way. The euphoria is comparable to MDMA. The music was brighter. It felt satisfying to just listen. I have a furry carpet in my room that I was very grateful to have during this trip. Laying down on it was just not enough. I craved a coat made from the exact material so I could rub my body over it. Tactile sensations were very much enhanced. Also similar to MDMA, just not as intense.

The trip lasted around 20 - 30 minutes. After my friend fell asleep. I however began to write. I feel it's best to write straight after the experience. I wouldn't classify this as a psychedelic. It doesn't alter my perception of time. However I would consider the experience with a high dose a ‘Trip’, due to its intensity. It is most comparable to the onset of MDMA with a pinch of dissociative to it. At least this is the case for me. Currently I feel as if I haven't even taken anything. I've never experienced a comedown from kanna. Occasionally I'll feel minorly sedated after. My friend is passed out on the bed so he's obviously getting that effect from it.

My purpose for writing this is to inform the reader on its effects. At the dose I took internausally I would advise against driving and taking other substances with it. I can imagine this drug could be useful for bonding with a partner or friend.
