The story begins with skipping school the day before my trip. We had went to a head shop and found some salvia extract. I thought, what harm could it do. At this time, it was still legal in my country, and a legal drug can't be that bad, right?

The next day at lunch time, I decided it would be a great idea to try Salvia. I was a very experienced user of cannabis at the time, and was pretty confident in my abilities to take drugs and not freak out.

We went to town for lunch, parked in the parking lot, and sat down. The window was open, which was probably the biggest mistake. I loaded a bowl of one of those cheap metal weed pipes with it, and decided to fire it up and just inhale like mad.

The next thing I remember, I climbed out of my friends car window and started screaming and running in circles. It felt like I was stuck in an infinite loop. Everything was changing colors over and over again, being ripped apart and being put back together, over and over again. I ran up to the intercom for the drive through and screamed in it. I ran around in another circle and screamed at a guy exiting the doorway. This went on for another few minutes, until I finally started coming to. I went back to my friend's car and said "What the fuck just happened". He burst out laughing and said that was the funniest thing he had ever seen.

I was so embarrassed at the time, but the after effects were actually profound. I felt a sense of peace and calm. That was the best part of the trip.

Since then I tried it another dozen or so times. Once or twice I got a good trip. The other times it was another nightmare infinite loop.

I'm glad they made this drug illegal in my country. It's not a party drug and is a profoundly strong hallucinogen. It might last only a few minutes, but those few minutes are absolutely mind blowing.
