I can say with adamance that melatonin and alcohol have coinciding CNS (central nervous system) depressant effects that may possibly potentiate one another.
I drank about four shots worth of whiskey (makers mark) about 20 minutes before taking a dose of 100 mg of melatonin (yes milligrams not mcg) and another fifteen 10 mg pills 10 minutes later; totaling out to 250 mg. I am currently writing this while under the influence of said substances, and am finding it quite hard to organize my thoughts and type this out, but I know for a fact it is not a result of me being intoxicated by alcohol, as I am quite a heavy drinker and am not easily influenced by liquor.
I am quite a heavy drinker and am not easily influenced by liquor.
I do NOT recommend anybody attempt to take doses as high as I have with melatonin, as it is a naturally occurring hormone that can disrupt circadian rhythms in high concentrations supplementally (and cause severe side effects in sensitive individuals). Nonetheless, this substance is certainly semi-recreational if combined with alcohol and the drowsiness if fought. I am definitely not recommending this as something to abuse, cuz I just seem to have an affinity for anything and everything in sufficient doses so do NOT by any means use my words as a means to justify shit. Buttttt, this shit is starting to induce a stupor that has got me by the balls in a sense, and I have no idea how to describe it except for comparing it to a mild dose of ambien when the sleep is fought. I feel as though I am drifting in and out of consciousness, and have a sense of dreaming while awake (which is kinda cool but quite concerning at the same time). I have been steadily trying to type consistently and am having trouble concentrating on the key strokes which is not normal for me whatsoever. I can hear my roomates snoring oddly amplified and it is really soothing for some reason. I feel like I am on some sort of narcotic, but am unable to compare this to any feeling I have gotten from a psychoactive.
At the end of the day, I can tell you that this is quite pleasurable, but I am sure I will reap the negative after-effects tomorrow morning LOL. Update: I have no energy upon waking up, but am sure a coffee and a cigarette will fix that.
