I purchased Tramadol (and Gabapentin) over the counter at the airport in Mexico before a return flight home to the United States. I recalled the names of the drugs, but had no knowledge of the effects of either.

This experience covers 200mg pill taken orally before a flight. I have never taken Tramadol before. I don't know what the intended effects are. I have a vague recollection that it is a narcotic or opiate of some kind.

I took the pill with apple juice soda on an otherwise empty stomach.

20 mins - I feel cozy. Pain in my joints is dulled. My eyelids are somewhat heavy. My stomach is gurgling. I feel pleasant, happy, and relaxed.

1 hour - I'm able to read and write, but feel somewhere between relaxed and sedated. Some bandaged cuts on my hand I received when opening a plastic box are noticeable when touched but less painful than they were previously. Typical pain I have in my jaw is relieved.

2 hours - I still feel good, but not "drunk."

3 hours - I still feel good.
