Playing Chess on Metocin

25 mg oral 4-HO-MET

Me and a close friend of mine orally dosed 25mg of metocin and immediately started a game of chess. Neither of us are that good at chess but we thought it would be a fun experiment to see how the way we played changed as we got more and more high. I think in the beginning, the high helped come up with creative solutions, but it started becoming increasingly difficult.

The board started waving ever so slightly. It became harder and harder to tell where straight lines led. Eventually I could not for the life of me figure out what rooks and especially bishops were lined up with. By the end I couldnít even remember what each piece did or what the goal of the game was.

An hour in, I could not focus whatsoever, my brain was thinking about everything around me and I couldnít keep myself focused long enough to figure out what was even going on on the board. It was a very fun time though, we were laughing a lot over how difficult of a time we were having. I was extremely giggly during this phase. The game of chess ended up lasting about 90 minutes before it ended with the help of my friendís roommate, who was hilariously frustrated with our inability to play.

During the come-up I felt the familiar relaxed feeling of shrooms in my head but a stimulation in my body. After the first hour the stimulation definitely took over for the rest of the trip. I was a little anxious and uncomfortable during that first hour but after that I felt like I had gotten into the headspace enough for it to feel great and fun.

After chess, we hung out on the porch for another 30 minutes. Watched patterns in the grass form in an almost identical way to dmt, lots of hexagons. Watched the wall shift and morph. Stared at patterns forming on the floor, they were mostly small and intricate and medium speed, not like the slow, large-scale visuals and transformations I get on shrooms. Other than the scale and speed, they had many tryptamine-like qualities. Such as the living, organic morphing of walls and the way edges of objects become wavy and stringy. Shrooms have always given me very little geometry but lots of dramatic spatial distortions. Metocin had a good mix of both, less spatial distortion than shrooms but definitely more so than other psychedelics Iíve had, and a lot more visual geometry.

Once we got bored of the porch, we watched Sweetness and Lightning for an hour. We died of laughter over the dumbest things, especially the character's faces. Looking at animated faces while high was very strange but hilarious, I noticed all the unrealistic face shapes and expressions.

We then enjoyed just sitting on the couch for a while before we got up to go to the kitchen. Her roommate had made apple pie so we hung out in the kitchen eating pie while the three of us talked. I'm not sure if it was just because I was high, but that was the best apple pie I've ever had in my life. I hadnít felt hungry during the trip but eating pie was still one of the best parts of the experience, it was absolutely delicious.

Around 5 hours we decided to watch more Sweetness and Lightning, we were mostly sober by this point and it was very strange watching it again while not so high. During the peak it was really intense, so much was going on and there was so much information to take in, I was reading so much into every second of the show. Now it felt very calm, quiet, and simple.

By 6 hours I was completely sober. My muscles were slightly sore from being a bit tensed up during the trip, but nothing bad. The headspace was fairly strong for me. Like with nboh, I felt like the stimulation prevented me from diving too deep into any one thought. However, the headspace was much stronger than nboh, and of course the stimulation was much weaker. Headspace compared to visuals I feel like was very comparable in amount to shrooms, except the stimulation made it easier to manage. Definitely more stimulating than 2c-b for me.

This was my first experience with metocin and Iíve done it a few more times since. I think most of the time I would still prefer shrooms, mostly because I love the large scale distortions that shrooms have as well as the lack of stimulation. However, it being stimulating gives it different use cases and sometimes Iíd be more in the mood for it. Overall, I really love it, itís definitely one of my new favorite compounds.
