Saw some absinthe at the liquor store and decided to bring it over to a friend's place as it seemed like a fun, unique idea. After touching it with the special spoon and some sugar cubes, I had one drink and didn't feel anything. I did quite like the taste, a clean and sweet fennel-y thing. So I had another, and then, feeling fun and a little unsteady, had another. Safe to say within a few minutes I felt totally messed up - sleepy and anxious, for some reason. We had some music on and I did have some pleasant visualizations (like the old windows music visualizer) but when I got home later that night I felt really unwell, and fell into a deep, sickly sleep.

I woke up with what I thought at the time was the worst hangover of my life, and a sore throat. The sore throat didn’t go away and even though I tested negative on a rapid, based on some transmissions in people around me I can only assume the sickness I had over the next week was the old corona fairy come to call. Maybe not the absinthe’s fault, but has sadly given me a poor association with miss green. Would try again, perhaps, but I'd be a little more careful with my consumption volume and my company.
