I am a recovering heroin addict. My tolerance used to be through the roof; at various points I’ve taken 3 grams of real dope (non-fentanyl) per day. However, at the time I set out to try Tianeptine all I had was my perma-tolerance from years of heavy opioid use. I’m not sure if I’d even feel a perc 30 very much if I were to take just one, even with no current tolerance.
T+0: I am always cautious at first when trying new substances. So I began with one capsule. I got them at a smoke shop nearby.
T+0:30 I did not feel anything at this point so I took 2 more.
T+1:00 I feel a tiny little hint of an opiate high. A bit headier than the full body flush of a morphine or heroin, but it’s barely scratching the surface. I’ll give it 15 more minutes and see.
T+1:15 Not much is happening. I feel a little spacey. Like a more euphoric Benadryl. I read online that each capsule is roughly 50mg. After further investigation it seems 30mg is equal to 5mg of morphine. I’m going to need a lot more. I determine that I should double my current dose; I take six capsules.
T+1:35 I start feeling it come on. It hits slowly but then once it starts building it gets there pretty quickly. It feels like taking a slightly less euphoric oxycodone, mixed with a Zoloft or a similar antidepressant.
It feels like taking a slightly less euphoric oxycodone, mixed with a Zoloft or a similar antidepressant.
T+1:45 I decide it would be nice to enjoy some time in the hot tub. As I won’t be able to re-dose once I’m there I ought to take two more, so I do.
T+1:55 I’m walking to the hot tub. Usually I love to look at the stars/planets and find the prominent ones. Venus was spectacularly bright a few nights ago so I’m looking for it. I don’t seem to care enough to think about where it should be. I misidentified a star as Venus which is unlike me to do. As I’m walking to the pool, security stops me and says that it’s too late to be there. I end up chatting with the security guy about the planets and various other things. I’m more chatty than usual and I’m feeling pretty good about myself. I can definitely tell, without having looked in the mirror, that my eyes are constricted. That familiar squinty eyed, pinned feeling of opiates is in full force.
T+2:00 I decide to walk to a different hot tub in the community next door. I stop back home first to take the remaining 4 capsules and get some water. I’ve got a little bit of dry mouth. By the time I go to take the caps I’m feeling a strong opioid buzz. This is definitely a full Mu opioid receptor agonist. It has a little bit of the limited feeling that comes with recreational buprenorphine. Basically it feels like even if I were to take a fistful of this drug it still wouldn’t feel quite as euphoric as the equal amount of oxy or heroin.
T+2:05 this hot tub is usually too hot but now it feels great. It’s super hot to the people in there with me. This med must have good painkilling efficacy.
T+2:20 I get very nauseous. Feels like I’m assuredly going to throw up at some point tonight, if not right now. I decide to chug a lot of my water to make puking easier and quicker. It succeeded at making me more nauseous but I didn’t puke. Decided to get out of the hot tub as that could be exacerbating the problem.
T+2:25 Hardly any more nausea. I go in the pool to cool down. Getting into and out of the water takes less effort than usual.
T+2:35 The nausea is completely gone. I walk home, take a shower, and notice in the mirror that my eyes are pretty pinned.
T+2:45 Mundane chores are easier on this drug. I decided to fold and put away my laundry with no qualms about it.
T+3:00 it’s staying strong and lasting longer than I thought it would. Nodding has gotten more pronounced and my eyes feel heavier. The creeping opioid induced audio hallucinations have kicked in in full force now (hearing people talk that aren’t there) along with some very light nodding, and loss of visual focus.
T+4:00 still feeling that pleasant opioid buzz. I would say that it feels more like Vicodin than Oxy. I’ve definitely had a decent amount of itching going on this whole time. If I were to do this again then I’d probably take some hydroxyzine or Benadryl first. I’ve been vaping all night
I’ve been vaping all night
T+4:45 I’m still nodding a bit. Not so much that it would be very noticeable. I’m sure that’s dose dependent though. The itching is a bit bothersome.
T+5:30 Eyes are still heavy. Nodding and hallucinations are still present. I’m starting to feel a headache coming on so it’s time to call it and fall asleep to the TV.
In retrospect I would say that this blows Kratom out of the water and that it feels significantly close to a normal opioid buzz. I could go about my day on Tianeptine and function like an average human. I’d also say that it’s pretty addictive and won’t be doing it again any time soon. Also, economically, this would burn a hole in my pocket pretty quickly. Also, the capsules seemed to have varying amounts of Tia in each one. Hopefully they don’t continue banning this in other states because that always seems to make the problem worse. If they leave it alone this would be nice to do a few times a year.
