I couldn’t find any experience reports here or on other sites that included mixing Ketamine and Fentanyl, so I wanted to write up my experience with it to warn others. I’m a 33-year-old 250lb 6’ tall male. I have extensive experience with many drugs including many years of Ketamine use. However, I have only taken Fentanyl 4-5 times before this experience, and that was all in the days leading up to this report.

I have a couple grams of Ketamine that I bought around a month ago, that I use sparingly when I have issues falling asleep. Recently I purchased what I thought was Heroin but turned out to be Fentanyl (Miscommunication with my dealer), it was around 50% fentanyl and 50% unknown filler, I’m guessing calcium from the taste and texture. I decided to keep the Fent anyway and used it a couple days in a row with alright effects. It wasn’t anywhere close to as euphoric as other opiates I tried, but much more energetic feeling with a very sedating come down. I take very little fentanyl at a time, knowing how easy it is to overdose. Normally I start feeling a glowing warmth around 10 minutes after snorting, followed by some slight euphoria in my face and restlessness with a general “high” feeling. I normally do chores or type work paper, which feels very satisfying while on Fent, then lay down once I start coming down as I start feeling very tired.

A couple nights ago I decided to take the Fentanyl and Ketamine together, to heighten the sedating effects of both to help me fall asleep. I started by snorting about 0.5mg of Fent (measuring out a correct dose of fentanyl is almost impossible without lab equipment by the way, so I’m mostly guessing by gauging the strength of the effects). I waited about 20 minutes for the Fent to take full effect, then snorted 50mg Ketamine. The Ketamine I have is lab tested and 96% pure.

After about 15 minutes my face felt very heavy, yet I was energetic, I felt some euphoria but less than usual. My vision was pretty blurry, but I was still able to walk around pretty easily without stumbling. I was alone at home at the time, but said something to my dog, and noticed it was very hard to articulate and my speech was very mumbled. I intended to go to bed, but I was feeling very awake and energetic, so I started doing laundry. My sense of time was very distorted but what I think to be around 30 minutes later I started coming down and was slightly nauseous. I decided to smoke a small amount of CBD hemp. The label says there is less than .2% THC, and I don’t get high from smoking it, I use it for nausea and pain management for my back. My nausea went away pretty quickly, and I felt more relaxed. I had come down almost completely (or so I thought) from the effects of the Fent. I decided to go ahead and take a little more of both then try to sleep again.

About 1 hour after my initial dose of Fent and about 45 minutes after initial dose of Ketamine, I snorted an additional 1 mg Fentanyl (eye balled) and another 50mg Ketamine (measured), then I immediately smoked a full bowl of CBD hemp to prevent nausea and hopefully increase the sedation. This was a big mistake. I immediately went outside to smoke a cigarette and wait for the 2 drugs to take effect. I began feeling quite sedated and euphoric at around 15 minutes. At about 20 minutes I had finished my cigarette and went to the bathroom. I was feeling more euphoric than usual and very disoriented like being very drunk. I looked in the mirror and noticed that when I blinked, it was very slow and my eyes would both roll to the back of my head then back in place slowly, I then noticed that I had very little control over moving my eyes side to side, but just figured this was from the muscle relaxant effect of both drugs and didn’t think much of it. I sat on the toilet and within a couple minutes my heart began racing rapidly. I was calm at the time, so I do not believe this was a panic attack. I started feeling very nauseous and dizzy and almost passed out a couple times. I stood up and began slowly breathing in and out to try and lower my pulse. My pulse continued to increase, and I started feeling a pain in my chest while my hands and feet started to feel numb.
My pulse continued to increase, and I started feeling a pain in my chest while my hands and feet started to feel numb.
I felt like I was overdosing or getting close to a heart attack, and I was very scared at this point.

I decided to take a 4mg Narcan nasal spray to stop the effects of the Fent, although knowing it wouldn’t do anything for the Ketamine. I continued standing to keep myself from passing out and dialed 911 and held it in my hand getting ready to press the call button in case I felt like I was going to pass out or if my chest pain became worse. I almost immediately felt the effects of the Narcan; very nauseous, shaky, agitated, and cold (effects of immediate opiate withdrawal). I was closely watching the time at this point, and at 5 minutes after taking the Narcan my heart rate began to slow down

, and my chest pain started to fade.

I wrapped myself in a blanket while continuing to stand and waited another 30 minutes with a second dose of Narcan on the table next to me. At the end of the 30 minutes, I was feeling very jittery and sleepy, my chest pain and numbness were gone, and I had come down considerably, although I was still feeling the disorienting effects of the ketamine. I decided it was ok to lay down and not call 911. Another hour passed and I continued to feel better and more tired. I don’t know how long it took but I eventually fell asleep. The next day I had a pounding headache and still felt very nauseous and very sleepy. I went about my day and was ultimately fine.

It's always best not to mix hard drugs, things can go wrong very quickly and easy. If you do decide to use fentanyl or other strong opiates, please purchase some Narcan, they sell it at most drug stores, and some even give it away for free. And please have someone you trust who’s sober to watch you when you try new things or decide to make stupid decisions like me, I am very lucky I didn’t pass out, no one would have found me for several days.
