DOSE:
16 g oral Kratom (daily)
BODY WEIGHT: 140 lb
Kratom Buzzy

I’m a 38 year old female, 140 pounds, seasoned drug user (never IV), but thankfully I don’t look haggard (yet). It’s been years since I’ve done an experience report. So, today I want to talk about RED MAENG DA KRATOM!

I was a heavy fentanyl user for 2 years, I had my hands on an endless supply of patches. I chewed them up til they were all gone and got fired and stripped of my nursing license. So much for “endless” supply. Don’t let this happen to you.

The withdrawal was Hell. I turned to alcohol (cheap vodka) to deal with the withdrawals, which turned into another circle of Hell because my pancreas exploded! Don’t let that happen to you either. I almost died.

After all this, I’ve sobered up, my organs are intact, but I still crave an opiate buzz every now and then. So I tried Kratom. Red Maeng Da, as it supposedly has the strongest opiate-like effects.

At this point, I take 16 grams of Kratom in one daily dose via capsules, so about 22 capsules in one sitting. Don’t do this for your first time, you’ll vomit. Make sure you’ve got a little something in your tummy beforehand. I rarely take Kratom on a full stomach, it screws with the effects. I just eat a banana or a little sandwich or something. Not empty, not full.

Anyway, I gulp down 22 capsules with water. It’s 3:30pm on a Sunday and I’m laying around my apartment.

I’ve learned the most effective way to feel the effects of kratom is to LAY DOWN, chill and wait for it to take effect. If I'm up moving around, running errands, cleaning… NO. Just lay down, meditate and wait to feel it.

30 minutes in, I’ll feel a hot flash. Heart may race a bit and I can definitely feel “something” coming on. A little flushed. Just wait. It feels like an opiate buzz on its way. I don’t get up, I don’t move around, I lay on my back in my bed and watch TV.

15 minutes after the hot flash, a distinct sense of calm and wellbeing floods over my body. I am still alert and able to concentrate, but I feel perfectly content laying here. Stressful thoughts float away, it feels like I took 20mg of Percocet for the first time! Feels like a warm, loving hug.

This feeling typically lasts me about 4 hours.
This feeling typically lasts me about 4 hours.
If I fall asleep during those 4 hours, the opiate buzz seems to extend. If I don’t fall asleep, I feel increased energy and focus as the Kratom wears off. Like, I’m actually interested in cooking dinner when normally it’s just a chore.

So all things considered, I think Kratom is a bit of a miracle. It’s easy to taper down when I'm over buying it. Tapering is important though because there are some opiate-like withdrawal symptoms if I build up to 16g daily and then just stop.

You have to be careful with Kratom. It’s just a bandaid. But I enjoy it, and it’s certainly better for me than alcohol or fentanyl. Feeling floaty and warm, about to cook a delicious dinner and watch it snow.

But no good deed goes unpunished, I will experience withdrawal from Kratom too, but the withdrawal is like 5% of being dope sick.
