I had been out that evening with friends, I'd had a few beers - I was probably tipsy but not drunk. At home that night I took the Zolpidem (my first time) and went to bed. Nothing happened so after an hour of staring at the ceiling I took another. I then went downstairs to make a cup of herbal tea in the hope that that would help me sleep - then blank. I have huge gaps of missing time.
Piecing together the night it appears that I left the house and walked 2 miles and ended up in a local bar/gambling den. At some point I texted friends nonsensical rambling texts about having a fever and instant coffee which resulted in a few worried calls from them. They tell me I picked up the phone spoke nonsense for a while and passed the phone over to a Thai man who was unable to communicate. Thankfully they were able to track me on Find my Phone and found me there playing the guitar (I can't actually play the guitar-so I guess just making a noise). Clearly I was also drinking and maybe smoking weed.
I can vaguely remember part of this, in my head I was in MY house having a nice time with MY family and I really didn't want to leave. Later my friends told me that I was telling them (in English) that I couldn't understand English and demanding they spoke Thai. I can't actually speak Thai but in my head I could. Later I was told that I was just making stupid noises (like a person who can't speak a language and is pretending to speak a language would).
Somehow they got me in a taxi and home while all the time I was crying and telling them I didn't want to leave and I missed my sister.
Thankfully, it appears that everyone in this bar/shack/house (I'm not even sure what it was) was kind. It appears that I was given free drinks and smokes. No money taken (my wallet was at home.) I discovered a woven bracelet on my wrist the next morning and some Cheetos in my pocket. No harm done apart from the massive embarrassment. Never taking those again.
