I recently bought some diethyl ether to try out, as I am very interested in dissociatives and its an easy to obtain option. I bought 100ml of pure reagent grade diethyl ether.

I was a bit nervous so turned on some music, and first tried out much smaller doses, probably close to just 1ml to test the waters. These had no effect on me so I decided to try a higher dose. I poured around 5 ml of ether on my cloth and proceeded to inhale it by mouth, I did that 3 times.

The smell was very strong, but so far not overwhelming. At first I started getting very lightheaded, but thats that, I felt no euphoria. At some point which I do not remember I blacked out and had a bizarre "dream". I felt like there was an infinite amount of universes lined up in a chain. I was in one of them, and I could communicate with the people in a neighboring universes. I warned them not to take ether. There was also a lot of different aspects of the dream which I do not remember. In my head it felt like it went on for very long. One thing I noticed is the extreme feeling of deju vu, I felt like this dream happened before (which is most definitely not true, since I started researching ether very recently and do not recall having any dreams about it).

Anyways I woke up confused, it took me a few seconds to get myself together. Judging by the fact that the same song was playing when I woke up, as when I was doing the ether, I must have went black for a minute or 2 max. The smell of the ether was much more apparent now, and it made me extremely nauseous, I also smelled horribly. The smell lasted for a few hours. The nausea went away in about an hour because I took benadryl for it.

Despite the interesting experience, I dont think this substance is worth it to me because I felt really bad afterwards. I dont think I was physically capable of dosing again without vomiting.

I think I may return to this substance in the future as I still have a lot left over, but the side effects really ruined this experience for me. In my opinion the cons outweigh the pros.
