Background:

I purchased 0.5 g of 3-Me-PCE HCl powder more or less by chance. One of the online RC vendors was selling it cheaply, and since I was already ordering other drugs, I decided to give it a try. The only other arylcyclohexylamine I have experience with is ketamine. I enjoy the dissociative effects of ketamine very, very much, in doses both light and strong, and I have a great deal of respect for the substance, as I feel I could easily fall for its temptations.

My last experience with ketamine was two weeks ago (150 mg at the tail end of an LSD trip). On average, I use dissociative anesthetics only once every few months, although this year I went through a month of more frequent ketamine use while dealing with depression and anxiety.

After reading the few available reports on 3-Me-PCE, I decided on a cautious initial dose of 8 mg, as I had no prior experience with this compound or with PCE itself. My wife and I took the drug together at home in a relaxed atmosphere of music, potato chips, cheese, non-alcoholic beer (me) and wine (wife).

The trip:

T0:00 (21:15) – 8 mg IN
My wife and I insufflated an 8 mg line each. Immediate urge to sneeze and a strong burning sensation on the mucous membranes. Effects were noticeable within a minute: slight stimulation and a lightness in the body.
T0:15
The burning had mostly subsided. Mild stimulation and a body high similar to a light dose of ketamine.
T0:30
We are both communicative and relaxed. The overall experience is pleasant and physically comfortable. We listen to music and eat some cheese (which tastes just as good as when sober).
T1:00
The dissociative effects become more apparent, slight tendency to get stuck in speech and thought.
T1:15
The effect becomes more supple and wavy, slightly psychedelic in character. It feels like we are approaching the peak.
T1:45
I played guitar for a while with no issues in coordination or fine motor skills. My wife was fascinated with turning the knobs on my effect pedals, joyful experiments with noisy soundscapes. The body high felt almost psychedelic in nature. The words that came to mind most often were “wavy,” “undulating,” and “wobbly.”

T2:00 – 5 mg IN
We decided to take another 5 mg each, as the overall effects were fairly mild and we wanted to go a bit deeper. Stimulation was again noticeable within a few minutes, along with a strong urge to sneeze. The burning sensation was relieved with saline spray after about 10 minutes.
T2:30
We are very talkative and social, feeling relaxed and slightly stimulated. The stimulating effects of the second dose felt stronger than the lingering dissociative effects of the first one.

T2:40 – 5 mg IN
We decided to increase the dose once more, since the effects of the first two doses did not seem to stack significantly. Sneezing and burning occurred again, followed by saline spray as before.
T3:00
I wrote down: “Like a more airy, shallower ketamine, pretty nice.”
T3:30
The dissociative effects are definitely stronger, but still relatively mild. I noted: “Dissociative, but very civilized — still social.”

T4:15
I decided to roll a small joint of some HHC buds I had found. I usually only smoke cannabinoids when already under the influence of another drug, and at this point it felt like it might be a good idea.
T4:20
It was a good idea. The HHC complements the state we are in quite well. The overall experience became more rounded and mellow.
T4:30
The effects of the HHC are still strong, I feel quite relaxed, contented.
T4:45
As dissociation increases, our conversations become more chaotic and cyclical — at times even slightly manic.
T5:10
I wrote: “Like a more chaotic, non-visual, undulating ketamine.”
T5:40
We began to feel sleepy, so we went to bed, cuddled, and fell asleep within about 30 minutes. Before sleep, I experienced fleeting closed-eye visuals in a fairly interesting pastel, hand-drawn style. Even with my eyes closed and body completely relaxed, I did not feel the "electric buzzing" sensation of ketamine or DXM. The space was very calm, soothing.

The following day:
After waking up, I still felt slightly sedated but calm and at peace with the world. There was no physical hangover whatsoever. The physical sedation lasted for some hours, though not in an unpleasant way.

Conclusion:
Overall, this was quite a pleasant experience. I would not recommend 3-Me-PCE over ketamine, and I cannot compare it to any other arylcyclohexylamine, but it was one of the more interesting RCs I have tried. We plan to try it again in the future, likely with a single stronger dose of 15–20 mg.

Although we redosed twice during the session, we avoided redosing during the (fairly long) come-up, which may have resulted in the effects not stacking as effectively as they could have. I do not feel inclined to try much more than 20 mg, as I suspect the experience would become too manic and chaotic. The most enjoyable aspect was the social, talkative state of stimulated dissociation.

Note:
My wife smoked much less HHC than I did, as she doesn’t tolerate cannabinoids very well, but during the evening she drank about a litre of wine. Toward the end of our trip, she was a bit more manic than I was and had a slight hangover the next day, but otherwise her experience was quite similar to mine. Her recommendation is, unsurprisingly, not to combine 3-Me-PCE with alcohol.
