I was sitting in my room with a good buddy of mine contemplating what to do that evening. Neither of us really felt like going out, and in fact, the general vibe was to stay in and be chill. Having said this, I would like to inform the reader that I am a very consistent smoker of marijuana, getting stoned 2-3 times a week for the entire day, and I have also tried acid and X.

My friend and I began searching for a bowl's worth of marijuana, but none could be found. However, we ran into an acquaintance that said he'd sell us two grams of opium for 15 bucks (we got a good price because we smoke him up a lot).

My friend and I bought the opium, and packed it into the bowl that we usually smoked marijuana out of. (We rolled it into a ball before placing it into the the bowl). I had never smoked opium before, but I have heard many things about the mystical potential it carries with it, so needless to say I was more then excited. The smoke itself smelled very nice, a sort of plastic smell I thought, but in no way unpleasant. The smoke entered my lungs much easier then marijuana, giving it a smooth feeling going down. It took us about fifteen to twenty minutes to smoke the whole thing.

When my friend and I got back, I was definitely feeling something different coming over me, but what I didn't realize was that the high was already there! It had crept up on me without my noticing at all. I was having a great time. I felt light and free. Everything seemed very far away, but very simple. It was a beautiful summer evening, so my friend and I went for a walk. We talked very little. We just enjoyed each other's company, the warmth of the sun, and the absolute beauty of nature. It has been so long since I had appreciated the outdoors in such a euphoric way.

An hour later, we returned home. The high had subsided a bit, but was still going strong. I sat down, and plucked my guitar strings with total interest in the noises I could produce. It held my attention for quite some time, perhaps thirty to forty five minutes. I was coming down at this point, but once again, the high was still quite prevalent. I walked around for a bit, feeling a bit uncoordinated. Then I made some green tea, (which was absolutely perfect for my mood-set) and my friend and I shot the breeze until, (approx 4 hours later) it had completely worn off. Afterwards, I felt like I do after I come down off marijuana, burnt, yet happy.

I felt no urge to repeat the high, but I know that I will definitely do it again in the very near future. I would recommend this to anyone looking for a new experience. The high is like that of weed, but without the fog.
