I wanted to write this to warn everyone about crack. It can ruin lives. I've never tried it but when I was 14 years old I learned that both my parents were addicted to it. They always drank alcohol but that was all. It started when my Dad made friends with a new guy at work. He tried it and kept it from my mother. He became addicted and then he turned my mom into a crack addict too. He lost his job and our house from there it went even further down hill. We moved all the time because my parents never kept the bills paid. We lived with relatives a few times then in hotel rooms. From time to time we would live in some nasty trailer in a trailer park. When we did live in our own place most of the time we lived without electricity or water. I suffered for years so did my younger brother. I dropped out of school and constantly stayed high on marijuana or pills I was only 16. My parents didnt care they never punished us for anything. My dad would steal from us all the time. Every time he would buy us something that he could trade or pawn for crack he would steal it back why we were at school. My mom always tried to make sure we had food and clean clothes. She regretted trying crack she wanted to stop.

In 1997 we moved to another town she got a job and got us a new place to live. My dad came to live there and got her smoking again.

Then one night he stole the rent money from her purse and we were going to be evicted from our house. She couldn't handle anymore she kicked my dad out and he left town that morning. We moved and she hasn't smoked since. I am very proud to say she turned her life around. My dad is still smoking and lives with anyone who will let him.He hasn't had his own home since 1996. It's now 2002 and I am married with 2 kids. I have a great life.
