I had recently learned about Salvia Divinorum, and had wanted to try it badly. I found through a friend of mine, that someone had some that I could purchase.

We arrived at my favorite locale, the duck pond, at around 8pm. I wanted to give myself the most calm and familiar atmosphere possible, because I was afraid of not being about to cope with the 'modern world', or so to speak. Nature does it best, hands down.

I sat with my friend K, who was my sitter. I told her that I'd like to explore myself, and feel around for what I am inside. She told me that I might have to smoke a lot of it to feel that way.

I obliged, 'sure, no big deal,' and proceeded to pack the first bowl.

Now, I'm not sure what potency it was, but I do know for sure that it was probably more than I was willing to handle. I had read that it could be possible achieving effects by smoking, so I prepared to smoke a lot.

After a whole bowl pack, around 5 or 6 hits, I began to feel a little different. I wasn't feeling it enough yet. So I proceeded to pack yet 3 more bowls. I could barely smoke the 3rd and 4th, I was feeling the effects of the Salvia greatly.

At first, I felt very calm and relaxed, and at peace with everything, a very normal stoned feeling. After a minute or so, I picked up my bottle of spring water and started to drink it, until I noticed the way the light was hitting it. The moonlight flashed across each ridge of the bottle, and appeared to be street lights. I saw a small city street inside the bottle of water, and each light was flickering, in a 'power-about-to-go-out' kind of way.

Now, I lie on the bench where we were sitting. I looked up at the sky. This, was by far one of the most surreal things I have ever experienced. Myself, living in the eastern US, would not normally see the famed Northern Lights. However, Salvia Divinorum decided to bring them right smack dab to my hometown, right above my head.

I saw the galaxy collapsing, and the sky melted into a gigantic blue puddle. My eyes reflected the shooting stars that I saw, and I pictured myself looking at them.

I looked into the weeping willow tree that we were underneath, and all of the branches assembled to make patterns and shapes, formal objects. One looked like a spider, one looked like a puzzle piece. The spider broke off of the tree and floated towards the table, and disappeared soon afterwards.

My friend, K, asked me if I was alright. She told me that I said, 'I am Aurora of Borealis,' which I really don't remember one bit.

I decided that it was time to go back to the car and head back home. On the way to the car, we each smoked a cigarette. When she blew her smoke out, it became the form of a rhinocerous.

The cigarette made me extremely dizzy, to which I send out a message: Try to stay away from smoking while on Salvia; in my case, it made me very dizzy, and it was hard to shake that.

We climbed into the car, and I closed my eyes and let myself settle down, until we were able to drive home.

Conclusion: In my humble opinion, it's best to have a sitter with you, in case things go wrong. Try and make the setting as easy as possible for you. Don't put yourself in an environment that could make you worry or be fearful of what's happening to your mind.

I would definately try Salvia again. It was one of the most deep and profound experiences I've had with any drug.
