To say the least, I was a bit disappointed with Salvia Divinorum. I ordered about 1.2 ounces online (at an excellent price) from a *very* reputable source. When I first received the massive package of greenish-black dried leaves, I first attempted to use the 'quid' method to bring on an experience. I made a quid of about 28 leaves that was soaked in warm water to soften the dry, brittle leaf material. At first, the sole effect that I received by chewing this massive wad was nausea. For 30 minutes, I chewed that massive wad of leaf very slowly, putting the wad under my tongue between chews (1 chew every 10 seconds). At 30 minutes, I disposed of the wad, and absolutely nothing happened.

Discouraged by this, I attempted smoking salvia, and discovered that the smoke is quite harsh! Eventually, I designed and built a special water bong for exclusive salvia usage. Thankfully, this mellowed out the smoke. Stupidly, I took 4 large hits (holding each in for a small while). At first, I thought that the salvia was bunk, and then the madness began. I can basically say that the initial onset was somewhat overwhelming, but controllable (Not nearly as strong as a DMT flash). At this point, I lay down and let the salvia take control. It felt as though my body had disappeared, and only my brain and thoughts remained.

I became a Spanish person. Now, I don't know a word of Spanish, but for some reason I could express myself in fluent Spanish. Basically, I became someone else. I was then suddenly standing in the middle of a strange country road, and strangely enough, I felt as though I had been there before. By this time, I was starting to come down from the trip, and after about an hour, the trip had ceased, leaving me somewhat confused. It was not a trip, but a change in existence.
