After purchasing a gram of 5x extract, I returned home and waited for dark to fall. I smoked (out of a waterpipe) the recommended dose of 1/6 gram, and sat patiently with my eyes closed. Nothing happened. I proceeded to smoke three more 1/6 gram doses, and was mildly dissapointed with the only effect I could perceive, which was a slight loss of coordination. I gave up, thinking I had wasted my money, and forgot about the remaining 1/3 gram for about two weeks. Then, after a particularly gruelling philosophical conversation with a friend one day, I was sitting in my apartment sorting through my personal beliefs on things like the nature of non-monogamous love and the 'herd' behavior of humans in a religious context, when the little vial of remaining extract popped into my mind like an answer, a pseudoepiphany.

I decided to give it another go, and waited once again until dark, this time smoking the entire 1/3 gram at once. I sat back and closed my eyes, and it was all of a sudden so obvious that everything was made out of fuzzy green triangles. This of course made perfect sense in context, but it could be translated to mean that there is a natural living order that supercedes and underlies all these human matters that I had been stressing about. The nature of Salvia Divinorum seems much more clear now: If you come without any questions, you're unlikely to get any answers. I would encourage anybody experiencing frustrations with this plant to release expectations (realize that any illuminations may be very small, however valuable) and make sure you're approaching the right oracle for the right reasons.
