I am a 44-yr-old female, who has had an opiate addiction for the last 13 yr's. It all started because of a lower back injury, (which I could have lied about as it is very easy to obtain narcotics in the town I grew up in), but my pain was and IS real.

Two months ago I moved down south and found that the doctor's down here don't like to 'give up' on any narcotic pain killers. My new doctor prescribed a few scripts for Percocet, but insisted he could not continue to prescribe them. Boy was I bummed! My 'old' doctor had been giving me Percocet and Ultram-(tramadol)for breakthrough pain, for the last few year's. (NOTE: My experience with opiate addiction led me to detox center's 3 times, to no avail. The last time I went to detox, I ended up telling my doctor everything! (I mean, I truly believed I could live without the drugs, and I was so very proud of myself for staying clean 2+ months). Well, next thing I know, I'm searching for a new doctor so I can get my 'drugs' again, and as I said, it didn't take long to find one who would give me what I wanted.

Now, for at least a month, I've been 'doing without' the opiates, and taking just Ultram for my back pain. Guess you could say I've been 'clean' again for month, and I'd like to stay that way!!

Just a moment ago I found a web site that gave details about 'Ultram Addiction'. (Something told me that Ultram was more than they were making it out to be, because I found that if I took 2, sometimes 3, my back quit hurting and I kinda-sorta had that 'high' similar to opiates).
