15 mg oral Pharms - Olanzapine (pill / tablet)

OK, the idea to try this out surfaced from a completely rediculous assumption that it would have a sedative effect on me. I was inclined to try it after I made a girl I know (we'll just call her Gorilla Chieftain) read me the entire contents of her medicine cabinet to me on AOL instant messenger one night. I dismissed all the names I recognized but the name Zyprexa came up, and so I had to look it up to find out what it was all about. Classified as an Anti-Psychotic pharmecudical, with side effects like slurred speach and drowsiness, I figured her father's schizophrenia medication might have desirable effects. I told her to bring a few in to school tomorrow because I wanted to give it a shot (anything to get through the day), but Gorilla Chieftain runs a hard bargain, so I lied and said I'd give her something good in the near future in exchange for these stupid pills that held no value with her.

So, come about 5th period the next day in school, Gorilla Chieftain held her end of the deal. I was given three 10mg Zyprexa, and I immediately ate one and a half pills (I wanted to take a safe dose before I discovered the effects and took the rest). After about 40 minutes of feeling nothing, slight effects came on. It felt as if my mind was slightly clearer and my thoughts were more defined. My body had a light tingling, weightless sensation, which at the time, I thought indicated that I was coming up. Turns out, I was just about to be dropped down. About 20 minutes after the initial effects, I soon felt I could not keep my eyes open. It had crept up on me and I found myself sleeping throughout every single class in the day. It wasn't a satisfying kind of sleep either, it was an extremely groggy, heavy eyed, irritated sleep that just felt as if it was something that needed to be done, despite how hard I wanted to stay awake. I only woke at 40 minute intervals just enough to open my eyes half way and drag myself through the corridors to my next class.

After school had finally ended, I managed to get on the bus and drag myself home to bed, where I slept for 16 hours. Terrible experience, anti-psychotics are worthless, and I was a stupid idiot to try them. I gave my friend the rest of the pills, who took them in school and had the same experience.

(I have since then wizened, if you were concerned for my willingness to take anything in hopes of a fix.)
