I went through a period of a few years where I took a pill quite frequently during raves and house parties. Because I'm small, I usually only required a half a pill to get high, then I'd take the other half when it wore down. It definitely takes me to a place that enhances the raving experience because: the music sounds better, the people look better, my energy is way up, and my 'love' for everything and anything is enhanced. Hence, bonding with others on E makes memorable conversations.
I've done a variety of pills coming in tablets or capsule forms. And I found the more pure MDMA experiences better, with more clear thinking and less of the 'messed up' state. However, as E became more popular the drug is cheaper and less pure, I've probably done more of the E that had other things in it, like speed. During these experiences, I'd have major jaw tension and clenching, states of mind where I was confused and paranoid, and unnatural boosts of energy (probably the speed), and lots of sweating.
The coming down was always the worst...sometimes depression would set in for a day, sometimes it would last for a week. I'd go through a day without sleeping or eating. But I did find something that would lessen these effects. As I was coming down from the high that night, I'd smoke marijuana (which pretty much made me completely brain dead in combination with E), then I'd be able to sleep that night, and usually eat at least one meal the next day. I'm not endorsing this combination, but it worked for me.
All in all, I had lots of fun with E, but decided that it is something that was worth it at the moment, but the after effects aren't. I think it is something to try for the experience but not good as a habit.
